Have you ever wanted to get up close and personal with a retired racing Greyhound?
Well, here is your chance!
Representatives from Greyhound Pet Adoption Northwest will be at Petco in the Timberhill Shopping Center in Corvallis on Saturday, January 3rd and on Saturday, January 10th at the Eugene Petco at Valley River along with some wonderful retired racers for you to meet. Volunteers will be on hand to answer your questions about Greyhounds and Greyhound adoption.
Event hours are from 11AM to 1PM at both locations. GPA Northwest has been placing retired racing Greyhounds in responsible, loving homes for over 20 years. There is an application process, a home visit, and an adoption fee. Not ready to adopt? You can still come out and meet the dogs and learn what wonderful pets Greyhounds can be.
Please join us on Sunday, December 14, 2014, for the first ever Jingle Bell Greyhound Walk, a gathering to remember the Greyhounds who have passed from WVGL families this past year. We will be ringing a bell for 19 Greyhounds. Fashioned after a similar walk that takes place annually in Boston, the walk will be a chance to gather with our friends during the holiday season and to pay tribute to our beloved pets. Donations will be welcomed but not required to attend. All proceeds will benefit Greyhound Pet Adoption Northwest. Holiday attire is encouraged, and prizes will be awarded!
We will meet at the 5th Street Public Market, 295 E. 5th Avenue, in Eugene at 1:30 PM. (Please park in the parking lot across the street.) We will walk down to the
fountain on 8th street and back and then meet at the fountain in the Market.
There we will ring the bell 19 times. Remember to bring your umbrella in case it rains. If there is a Greyhound you would like to have remembered at the bell ringing, or for more information, email Mary Lou at greythappenings@comcast.net
Just a quick note to let you know that there WILL be adoptable Greyhounds at the Corvallis adoption event on Saturday, December 6th from 11-1. Everest and Jiggy are slated to make an appearance and are available for adoption. We'll be at Petco in the Timberhill Shopping Center.
