Reminder: Corvallis Greyhound Walk is THIS Sunday, Sept 19th at Crystal Lake Sports Fields
The September Greyhound walk will be this Sunday, September 19th at Crystal Lake Sports Fields/Willamette Park in south Corvallis. We'll meet in the Crystal Lake parking area at 1:30PM and walk the shaded trail along the Willamette River. We can either loop back on the asphalt path which bisects the ball fields or walk the dirt path on the west side of the park. The walk will be approximately 1 hour in length and covers flat terrain.
Directions from I-5:
From the Interstate Highway (I-5), take Exit 228, the Lebanon/Corvallis
exit, on to State Highway 34, west towards Corvallis.
Stay on Highway 34 for approximately 9.9 miles, to the stop light at the
Philomath bypass (Highway 34/Route 20 bypass).
Turn left at the light on to the Highway 34/Route 20 bypass. Take the first
off-ramp on your right, the Highway 99W South exit.
Continue on Highway 99W a few blocks to the stop light at Crystal Lake
Drive.
Turn left (east) on Crystal Lake Drive and continue approximately one half
mile to Fischer Lane, on your left.
Turn left on Fischer Lane to where it ends at the Crystal Lake Sports
Fields. There is a large parking lot for your convenience.
If you're coming up 99W, simply turn right on Crystal Lake drive (look for
Crystal Lake Public Storage), and continue approximately one half mile to
Fischer Lane, on your left. Turn left on Fischer Lane to where it ends at
the Crystal Lake Sports Fields. There is a large parking lot for your
convenience.

GPA-NW Adoption Event - Saturday September 18th - Corvallis AND Eugene
Once again, here's your chance to get up close and personal with a retired racing Greyhound!
Representatives from Greyhound Pet Adoption will be at the Corvallis Petco in the Timberhill Shopping Center in Corvallis and at the Petco in Eugene located at 1169 Valley River Dr on Saturday, September 18th from 11AM to 2PM.
We'll have some "display models" for you to interact with, as well as an adoptable Greyhound or two.
Come join in the fun and frivolity! See you there!

Daily Dog Tip: Old Dogs Aren't Acting So Old These Days
....or they shouldn't be if their owners are taking good care of them. Human life expectancy is rising as medical care, food quality and lifestyle changes make people more adaptive and health oriented.
How about your pooch? Still feeding him scraps and preservatives? Still pacifying his desire to play by substituting a fatty, salty snack? Poochie wants to achieve his full potential just as much as you do. Food quality, appropriate supplements and daily exercise make that "current age x 7 years" equation for dogs obsolete these days.
