GPA-Northwest Adoption Events - Saturday, October 5th - Corvallis AND Eugene!

Once again, here's your chance to get up close and personal with a retired racing Greyhound! On Saturday, October 5th, representatives from Greyhound Pet Adoption - Northwest will be at the Corvallis Petco in the Timberhill Shopping Center from 11AM - 1PM, and at the Petco in Eugene located at 1169 Valley River Dr from 11AM to 1PM.

We'll have some "display models" for you to interact with, and perhaps an adoptable Greyhound or two.

GPA Adoption Event - Fido Fun Day in Roseburg! Saturday, September 21

We will be at the Fido Funday at Gaddis Park in Roseburg on September 21st from 10AM - 2PM.  Bring your greyhound and have a fun day with us. Contests, agility demos, competitions raffles, prizes, food! We will have a booth, some adoptable dogs and will be giving a short presentation on Greyhounds.

The Congo Kids 5k have just announced their race will be at Dorris Ranch on September 15th at 3pm (our walk is on September 15th at 1:30pm) Although our walk is earlier in the day, they will be having pre-race registration from 1 - 2:30pm. Parking will be hard to find. 

 

SO.. we have changed our walk for September to the Talking Waters Gardens of Albany and walk in Dorris Ranch in October.

September Greyhound Walk

 

Join us for a lovely walk around the Talking Waters Gardens of Albany, OR. We’ll meet at 1:30pm at the parking lot, 875 Waverly Drive NE, Albany on Sunday, September 15th. The Talking Waters Gardens are Albany’s own ‘green’ water treatment process using Wetlands cells. Purina Recalls Salmonella-tainted Dry Dog Food

Purina ONE beyOnd Our White Meat Chicken & Whole Barley adult dog food is being recalled after salmonella was found in a bag. (Nestle Purina)

Nestlé Purina PetCare Co. is recalling a dry dog food contaminated with salmonella.

 

The company, based in St. Louis, Mo., said the bacteria were discovered in a bag if its Purina ONE beyOnd Our White Meat Chicken & Whole Barley adult dog food. The company has pulled the product, which was distributed in 3.5 lb. bags to stores nationwide.

The recall affect bags with a best-by date of October, 2014, with a UPC code of 17800 12679 on the bottom of the bag. Customers should stop using the food immediately.
