It is important to know when you should be concerned about cloudy eyes in dogs and when a trip to the veterinarian is in order.

Purina Recalls Pro Plan Vet Diet Product Due to Mislabeling
December 2, 2022 — NestlĂ© Purina PetCare Company is recalling a limited amount of Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets EN Gastroenteric Low Fat prescription wet dog food due to a labeling error.

What Caused the Recall?
For a brief period on September 15, 2022, cans of a different complete and balanced adult dog food, Purina ONE True Instinct Tender Cuts In Gravy With Real Turkey & Venison wet dog food, were labeled as PPVD EN Low Fat in one of the company’s factories.
The mislabeled diet is safe to feed, but it is not the intended formula for dogs requiring a prescription Low Fat diet or who may have sensitivities to traditional diets or difficulty digesting fat.
Company Statement
According to the company…
We became aware of the issue after being contacted by several pet owners who observed the texture of food in their PPVD EN Low Fat cans was not the same as previous meals.
The mislabeled product contains chunks in gravy, while the correct product looks more like a pate consistency.
While we have not received any reports to date of illness or injury to dogs fed this mislabeled product, we are conducting this voluntary recall as a precaution.
The affected product was available by prescription only and distributed through veterinary clinics and other retailers with the ability to validate a prescription.

Great Global Greyhound Walk - September 25th (Part Two)
When: Sunday, September 25th @ 1:30

296 E 5th Ave. Eugene, OR 97401
The Great Global Greyhound Walk is a world-wide, annual
dog-walking event, bringing together greyhounds, galgos,

awareness of the breeds and show the public
what incredible family companions they can be.
Willamette Valley Greyhound Lovers will be hosting
a GGG Walk in Eugene. From Ireland to Tasmania,
walks will be taking place
all over the world. Last year, over 7300 greyhounds
walked on one memorable day to celebrate
Sighthounds and promote awareness.
The Eugene walk will take place in downtown Eugene.
We will meet at 5th Street Market near the
south side parking lot at 1:30.
We'll have some bandanas and leis for your greyhounds
and please feel free to bring your own.
The color for this year's

Great Global Greyhound Walk - September 25th (Part One)
Greetings WVGLs!
Question: What had 7,509 Sighthounds, 343 walks, and was in 27 countries across the world?
Answer: The Great Global Greyhound Walk of 2021.
Question: What is happening on September 25th?
Answer: The Great Global Greyhound Walk of 2022!
Started in Great Britain in 2010, the Walk went worldwide in 2015, bringing greyhounds and their peeps together to walk in solidarity all over the globe.
The aim was (and is) to celebrate Sighthounds, to raise awareness of hounds
in need, and to promote them as pets in a BIG way, particularly Greyhounds and Galgos.
While Greyhound racing is winding down in the U.S., there are still thousands of Greyhounds in need of homes in countries that still have racetracks, such as Ireland, Mexico, and Australia. Some of these dogs have been making their way to loving homes in America, including here in Oregon, where Greyhound Pet Adoption Northwest has placed Greyhounds from both Ireland and now Australia.
Check out the details in the preceding post for the Willamette Valley Walk happening in downtown Eugene. We hope you will join us and other greyhound lovers in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Wales, Australia, Canada, and many more, to promote awareness for adoption and the Greatness of Greyhounds!
Cheers,
Kym
PS: Want to help bring these retired racers to loving homes in Oregon?

Homemade Frozen Dog Treats
Courtesy of The Whole Dog Journal:
If your dog is too hot this summer, cool her off and make her happy with healthy homemade frozen dog treats like "pupsicles"!
Our dogs are just as fond of ice cream, popsicles, and other frozen treats as we are. But frozen treats, including those sold for pets, can be high in sugar, difficult to digest, expensive, or contain artificial flavors, colors, and even potentially dangerous ingredients.
Fortunately, it’s easy to save money, add variety, improve the nutritional content of your dog’s treats, and help your hot dog cool down as temperatures climb with these homemade frozen dog treats.
