Eastgate Woodlands is part of the Whilamut Natural Area,  extending west to Eugene and Alton Baker Park. Pre's Running  Trail, the Dellinger Trail, and the Ruth Bascom Riverbank  Trail also pass through Eastgate Woodlands. Heron Park and a  designated parking lot are located on Aspen Street. I adopted Ranger in mid September. He was a re-homed older dog: a happy, energetic, extroverted goofball. Ranger was also a velcro dog--always had to have me in his sight. He was diagnosed with bone cancer January 9, 2024. He will be dearly and greatly missed.
