Last month, GREY2K USA learned that a businessman named Nguyen Ngoc My announced that he intends to build greyhound racetracks throughout the country, starting with a track in Ha Tinh Province. This expansion occurs at the same time that dog racing is dying in most parts of the world, and raises significant concerns about the welfare of greyhounds that compete in Vietnam.

Greyt Happenings For Willamette Valley Greyhound Lovers - March 2012 Issue
March GPA Adoption Events - 3/10 in Eugene and 3/17 in Corvallis
There are TWO Greyhound Pet Adoption - Northwest "Meet A Retired Racer" adoption events in the Willamette Valley this month.
Join us at Petco in Eugene (1169 Valley River Dr.) on March 10th from 11am - 2pm
or...
...in Corvallis at Petco in the Timberhill Plaza on March 17th (St. Patrick's Day!) from 11am - 1pm.
Representatives from Greyhound Pet Adoption - Northwest will be on hand to answer any and all questions about Greyhounds and Greyhound adoption. As always, we'll have some "display models" for you to meet!

February Greyhound Walk - Sunday, Feb. 19th - Corvallis
Kudos to Keith, Vickie, Mary, and Singh for the suggestion:
Join us for an urban stroll in Corvallis for our February greyhound walk! The walk will take place on Sunday, February 19th at 1:30pm. We’ll meet up at the north end of the Riverfront park behind the Super 8, where parking is available. If you are interested, we can walk through downtown and stop for a coffee and pastry!
The Super 8 is located at 407 NW 2nd St (on the riverfront), and the Riverfront Commemorative Park is between 1st Street and the Willamette River. Parking is FREE on Sundays...there should be plenty of parking along and at the north end of Riverfront Park. Hope to see you there!

GPA-Northwest Adoption Event - Saturday, February 18th - Corvallis AND Eugene!
Once again, here's your chance to get up close and personal with a retired racing Greyhound!Representatives from Greyhound Pet Adoption will be at the Corvallis Petco in the Timberhill Shopping Center in Corvallis and at the Petco in Eugene located at 1169 Valley River Dr on Saturday, February 18th from 11AM to 1PM in Corvallis and from 11AM to 2PM in Eugene.
We'll have some "display models" for you to interact with, and perhaps an adoptable Greyhound or two.
