Willowrun Rush - My first Greyhound

Bluffs Run, located in Council Bluffs, Iowa, holds some significance for me.  I adopted my first Greyhound, Rush, from this track back in March, 1997.   Adjacent to the Omaha, Nebraska metropolitan area, as many as 6,000 folks attended races on a daily basis.  Greyhound racing ended at Bluffs Run on Friday, December 18th in front of 500 fans.

Corvallis Greyhound Adoption Event - Saturday, December 19th @ Petco

 

Have you ever wanted to get up close and personal with a retired racing Greyhound? Well, here is your chance!

 

Representatives from Greyhound Pet Adoption Northwest will be at Petco in the Timberhill Shopping Plaza in Corvallis on Saturday, December 19th, from 11AM - 1PM, along with some wonderful retired racers for you to meet.

 

Volunteers will be on hand to answer your questions about Greyhounds and Greyhound adoption.

 

GPA Northwest has been placing retired racing Greyhounds in responsible, loving homes for over 20 years. There is an application process, a home visit, and an adoption fee. Not ready to adopt? You can still come out and meet the dogs and learn what wonderful pets Greyhounds can be.

Second Annual Jingle Bell Walk - Sunday, December 13th - Eugene

Please join us on Sunday, December 13, 2015, for our second annual WVGL Jingle Bell Greyhound Walk, a gathering to remember the Greyhounds who have passed from WVGL families this past year. We will be ringing a bell for 13 Greyhounds. The walk will be a chance to gather with our friends during the holiday season and to pay tribute to our beloved pets. Donations will be welcomed but not required to attend. All proceeds will benefit Greyhound Pet Adoption Northwest. Holiday attire is encouraged! We will meet at the 5th Street Public Market, 295 E. 5th Avenue, in Eugene at 1:30 PM. Remember to bring your umbrella in case it rains.
