It's Time For the Eugene Greyhound Picnic!


IS IT SUMMER?  IT MUST BE PICNIC TIME!

Calling all Willamette Valley Greyhound Lovers! You are once again invited to join us for a day of frolic, food, and friends at the 10th Annual Eugene Greyhound Picnic, to be held on Saturday, August 2nd, from 11 AM to 3 PM. This day of fun and fundraising will be at the Finigan Residence, 1250 Irvington Drive in Eugene, so mark it on your calendars and plan to attend with your favorite Greyhounds (and family, of course).

Highlights include:

Hotdog & Hamburger Barbecue (Veggie Burgers available)

Fundraising Raffle and Silent Auction

Off Leash Play Area with wading pools for dogs to cool off

The Ever Popular Greyhound Games (we are adding new games this year)

The Greyt Stuff Merchandise Shop Filled with wonderful greyhound goods

Dog Whisperer, Julia Bowlin

Nail trims by Joan Fusek of Zoom’n Groom’n with donation going to GPA-NW

Admission is $10 per adult and $5 for children ages 4 to 12. Children age 3 and under are free. Parking is at the SonRise Christian Church, 1 block west. Handicap Parking is in the driveway of the Finigan residence.

What to bring: your dog’s muzzle, a picnic blanket or lawn chair, and a side dish to share.

All proceeds go to benefit Greyhound Pet Adoption Northwest. Since 1987, GPANW has placed over 5,000 Greyhounds in loving homes.

For example, if you love being outdoors, some good companions would be: Dobermans, or Australian cattle dogs. If you are a stressed or depressive type of person you could benefit from having a charming pet, like pugs or Shiba Inus. If you have trouble sleeping, snuggly breeds like Greyhounds or Sheepdogs. Beagles are one breed that's known to be good with children, along with boxers. Watch for more advice.
