January 23rd Greyhound Walk: Minto-Brown Island Park in Salem

For the greyhound walk on Sunday, January 23, let’s meet at 1:30 pm in Salem’s Minto-Brown Island Park.

This large, 898.9-acre natural park includes lovely open and wooded areas with many soft and paved trails for jogging, biking, roller-blading and dog walking. If the doggies are not too exhausted after the walk, there is also an UN-fenced offleash
area. Allow 1 1/2 hour drive time from Eugene, 45 min to an hour from Corvallis:

take I-5 north and exit 253 (N. Santiam Hwy/Mission St SE); turn left to take Mission St SE all the way into town and turn left on Commerce St SE; take the 3rd right onto Owens St S; Owens St curves left and becomes River Rd S which you
would follow until the right turn into the park at Minto Island Rd S. Follow this road about a mile through the park until you reach a large parking lot on the right. Maps and directions for getting to this greyt park can be found here.

There may be running water but you should probably bring your own drinking water; human “facilities” are pit toilets.
