Eugene Walk When: Sunday, September 27th @ 11:00 AM Where: The Amazon Community Center @ Amazon Park 2700 Hilyard St. Eugene, OR 97405

Let’s meet in the parking lot by the Community Center at Amazon Park. This is located on the south-east side of the park on Hilyard St. From there we will head down the Amazon Running Trail, onto 24th St., and finally looping back to our starting point. Bandanas and bling for your greyhounds are encouraged as well as people tee shirts promoting greyhounds and/or greyhound adoption. See you then! Kym Fleming

Corvallis Walk When: Sunday, September 27th @11:00 AM Where: Crystal Lake Sports Fields 100 SE Fischer Lane Corvallis, OR 97333

Please meet in the parking lot of Crystal Lake Sports Fields at 11:00 AM. There will be plenty of parking. The walk will combine an easily walkable, shaded dirt trail and a paved trail. Duration of the walk will be 45 min to 1 hr. Crystal Lake Sports Fields are located in South Corvallis. Join us even if you don't have a Greyhound/Sighthound but would like information on Greyhound adoption or you'd just like to get up-close and personal with a Greyhound!  Representatives from Greyhound Pet Adoption - Northwest will be on hand to answer your questions. Northwest Naturals Recalls Raw Pet Food Products Over Potential Salmonella and Listeria Contamination

 

August 28, 2026 – Northwest Naturals of Portland, Oregon is voluntarily recalling 53 cases (1,272 lbs.) of Northwest Naturals Frozen Chicken Recipe and19 cases (684lbs) of Northwest Naturals Frozen Raw Diet for Dogs Chicken Recipe (6lb bags) after the lots were identified as potentially contaminated with Salmonella/or Listeria monocytogenes. 

The contamination was discovered after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) collected and tested samples of the product.

The affected products are as follow;  

Product: Northwest Naturals Frozen Chicken Recipe (protein topper for dogs), 2 lbs. bag (12 bags per case)

What To Do 

Pet owners should stop feeding these products immediately and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund or replacement.

What should you do if you have these foods?

Pet owners should stop feeding these products immediately and dispose of any remaining food in a sealed container where pets and wildlife cannot access it. Clean and disinfect all pet bowls, preparation surfaces, storage containers, bedding, floors, toys, and any area the food or pet may have contacted. Wash your hands thoroughly after handling the food or cleaning contaminated areas.

These bacteria can infect both pets and people. Dogs may show symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, fever, or lethargy, while humans may experience diarrhea, fever, abdominal cramps, and other serious illness. Pets can carry these bacteria without obvious symptoms, potentially spreading them to people. If your pet shows signs of illness, contact your veterinarian immediately. If you or a family member develops symptoms after handling this food or a pet that ate it, contact your healthcare provider.
